The project is for the full refurbishment and internal remodelling of the typical 'echoppe' in Bordeaux

The single storey house sees a redistribution of walls to the bedrooms to maximise the light and provide additional storage space.

 

In the original configuration, the ground floor was overcrowded with partitions and small rooms. We proposed to keep the spaces as minimal as possible and to provide a large living space engaging with and enjoying the light from the patio.

 

The materials are kept very simple in line with the character of the 'echoppe". We exposed the typical local stone which gives  warmth and contrast well with the contemporary finishes.
